Cool, emotional jams filled the room as Snail Mail warmed up the crowd Wednesday evening at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee.
Snail Mail and Soccer Mommy recently hit the road for their co-headlining tour, titled “S&M” tour.
Lindsey Jordan, frontman of Snail Mail, took no time jumping into her powerful lyrics mixed with her indie-vibe guitar notes. Jordan had a colorful collection of guitars she used throughout the set while playing with a strong backing band to bring her songs to life.
A voice with a hint of Julien Baker and her own rasp, the melodic sound to Snail Mail’s lyrics gave a well-rounded sound and performance.
Her catchy riffs were a great intro to the night of music.
Jordan closed out her set with a first-time cover of Michelle Branch’s “Breathe,” inviting Sophia Allison of Soccer Mommy to sing along.
Soon after, Soccer Mommy took the stage for her own performance.
As a co-headlined show, each band took about an hour and twenty minutes to showcase their sound to the audience.
A hometown crowd full of friends and family cheered a warm welcome to Allison as she hit the stage.
To complement her stage set was a pink backdrop with some hand-drawn monsters, as well as some miscellaneous toads on pedal boards and amps.
Allison opened her set with her iconic sparkly purple Novo Serus guitar playing “Circle the drain,” off her 2020 album. Before playing “Feel it all the time,” she noted how the truck she sings about in the song died on the way to this exact venue a while back.
Allison’s new single, released last month, called “Rings of Saturn,” was a noteworthy hit—a beautifully crafted piece all about stargazing.
To finish out her set, Soccer Mommy brought Jordan back out to the stage to sing a duet. The duo performed one of Soccer Mommy’s songs called "Still Clean.”
The co-headlined tour continues for the next couple of weeks, hitting the South, East, and West Coast. To learn more about show dates, visit Soccer Mommy’s website or Instagram.
