The Jonas Brothers “Burn Up” Madison Square Garden
The three-day nostalgic stint left fans ready for a full tour to follow.

I’m hot, you’re cold.
If you can finish that sentence in the form of a Jonas Brothers lyric, chances are you probably attended one (or two, or three) of their three-night Burning Up All Over Again run at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. Or maybe you’re not local to New York, but plan to attend the now-announced full Burning Up tour.
As an original tour attendee in 2008 (yes, that is a flex in my book), it was inevitable that I ended up at the Garden two nights in a row. After all, how many chances am I going to get in 2026 to hear “Shelf” live again?
The show began promptly at 8pm both nights, which was a win for me, but left some fans in a frenzy. (It’s rare a main act walks onto the stage in New York City anytime before 9pm).
Off the jump, it was everything I could have wanted and more, because it was everything I remembered from that iconic summer tour I attended as a 15-year-old. The stage setup? Identical. The “JB” crest hovering over the stage? Identical. THE OUTFITS? I D E N T I C A L.
From the first “do dooo” of their opening song “That’s Just The Way We Roll”, the crowd was locked in. Our voices were so loud, it was almost impossible to hear the brothers actually sing. An instant party, the vibes were unmatched, and all of a sudden 20,000 strangers were best friends reliving their awkward teen era.
And then came “Shelf”, which I would attempt to recap, but the only thing I remember is an uncontrollable excitement that took over me head to toe, both nights. (I was sober, by the way.) In case you haven’t figured it out yet, “Shelf” is my favorite song from the A Little Bit Longer album. Hit after hit followed, and “Hold On”, “BB Good”, and “Goodnight and Goodbye” had us all singing along without missing a beat or lyric.
Nostalgia in the form of a drumstick followed. Nick headed to the drums across from counterpart and longtime drummer Jack Lawless to participate in a full-stage drumstick toss, a moment that 2008-era fans were all too familiar with. And, just like we remembered, Nick tossed the drumsticks, Lawless caught them with ease, and the crowd went wild, just like we did 18 years ago.
“Video Girl” followed, with Nick on the drums, and then it was time for “Camp Rock.”
The Jonas Brothers took center stage to gently promote the third installment of the “Camp Rock” movie, highlighting the good memories from the first two and the joy of producing the third. They also mentioned their new status as Disney Legends, a subtle but well-deserved flex.
Night one, we got a medley of “Gotta Find You” and “This Is Me”, with both songs cut in half. Perfection, or so I thought, until night two when we heard the entirety of “Gotta Find You”. Even more perfection.
With emotions peaking (or was that just me?), Nick followed with yet another nostalgic moment. He sat down at the piano and talked about a song he wrote while going through a hard time and filming “Camp Rock” in Canada. If you’re an original JoBro fan, you immediately know what he’s talking about. After all, we all remember where we were when we found out Nick Jonas had diabetes, right? The sweet serenade of “A Little Bit Longer” followed, and after we all fell silent for the final notes of the song, Joe reentered the stage to remind people it was time to have fun.
Upbeat songs like “Still In Love With You” and “Tonight” followed. And then it was time for the singalong that even the husbands, boyfriends, and best friends who were dragged along knew. “Year 3000” left us all giggling, and also wondering who the Jonas Brothers’ math teacher was during this era. JK, sort of.
After “Pushin’ Me Away” and “Hello Beautiful” followed, the brothers spoke about their fond memories of their original touring band, noting that John Taylor and Greg Garbowsky were still some of their best friends after all of these years later. The duo appeared on stage as the group sat on the stairs together, and they all performed “Lovebug”.
The first half of the show finished (exactly as it did in 2008) with “Can’t Have You”, “Play My Music”, “When You Look Me In The Eyes”, “S.O.S.” and, of course, the tour-titled track, “Burnin’ Up”. To no one’s surprise (or dismay), original security guard and track feature Big Rob came out to sing his rap solo on the song both evenings, and Joe and Kevin did their infamous water drum solo leading up.
A 10/10 recreation, no notes. (Although I shamelessly wish we had Demi Lovato for the “Camp Rock” portions of the evening.)
The second half of the evening varied from Thursday to Friday. Consistencies included the band covering their newer top hits like “Waffle House” and “Love Me To Heaven”. Nick, Joe, and Kevin each had the opportunity to perform their solo work (and sing each other’s tracks) with “Jealous”, “Cake By The Ocean”, and “Changing”, as well as a debut of their newest song, “Listen When Sad”, due to release on August 28th.
The brothers gave fans an opportunity to pick a song each evening. Thursday, a mom who shared a sign that she’d beat cancer chose her favorite song, “Cool”. After a sweet interaction with Joe, the brothers played exactly that.
Friday, a younger fan had her request granted with “Tantrum”. We also got a short clip of "Inseparable", which of course left us craving more. Perhaps next tour.
Both evenings felt nostalgic, joyful, and like an opportunity to feel connected to our younger selves. And if you didn’t experience it at Madison Square Garden during their three-day stint, perhaps you’ll make your way to another stop on the tour.
