Confluence Music Fest ended its three-day run of shows with Saturday’s free night of music at Suffolk Punch Brewing. The last two acts of the night, Arts Fishing Club and Harvey Street, packed the general admission venue with excited fans.

Arts Fishing Club was greeted with fan-made sunglasses donning handwritten notes of “TUPELO HONEY,” in honor of their most played song, and “FISHING CLUB.” The band played both their well-known hits and new songs from their recently released album, Pocket Full Of Mumbles. Their 8-track album was released at the beginning of September, which Lou reviewed. Arts Fishing Club has managed to quickly capture the hearts of their fans with these new songs, point proven as the crowd sang along to songs old and new.

As their set went on, the crowd grew and pushed forward to share in the band’s energy. Fans danced against the stage and shouted in excitement as each song in their set list grew upon the last. Starting with an almost Paul Simon / Peter Gabriel sound to their music, the songs grew heavier and higher energy, ripping Sabbath-esque guitar riffs and loud, fast-paced, animalistic drums that the Confluence crowd only grew more excited for.

Arts Fishing Club put on a hard to beat show, and Harvey Street took the stage shortly after to deliver an equally thrilling performance.

Harvey Street ran out onto Confluence’s stage, jumping and grinning at the still-growing room of fans. From the very start, Harvey Street’s performance was centered on crowd interaction and the enjoyment for each person there. Fans screamed back lyrics as the band connected with those in the very front, danced with and pointed out those basking in the music, and talked to fans between songs who were sharing that “best night ever” feeling with the band. Harvey Street prioritized fan appreciation.

Harvey Street played 14 songs on their setlist, including all 5 tracks of their recently released EP, Anywhere, released October 2nd. The band also played their top tracks “Free Myself” and “Irish Goodbye”, as well as two covers that had the whole venue lit up in a chorus of voices: “Where’d All the Time Go” (Dr. Dog) and “Ain’t No Sunshine” (Bill Withers). The set evolved with each song, melting into loud, flirting guitars that leaned into psychedelic inspired notes, blurring into each other. Fans in the crowd were only hungry for more, chanting and urging the band to come out for an encore.

Both Arts Fishing Club and Harvey Street performed incredible sets that left everyone on an alt-rock high, leaving the night with their songs still buzzing in their ears.
